About Me

Olwyn Cossins
Olwyn Cossins, London, England. I trained as a Graphic Designer then worked in the toys and games industry involved in product development and design. I became interested in cartooning while working on a 3 year research project, tracing the work of a cartoonist from Hull, called Ern Shaw for the Ferens Art Gallery in Hull, which culminated in an exhibition of his work in 2010 at the gallery visited by approximately 15,000 people. During my research I came across the Cartoonist Club of Great Britain, an organisation with a long history of famous cartoonists as members. After visiting some of their events the idea for the large cartoon activity strips was born. While running my own puppet and cartoon workshops the strips became a useful activity for keeping large groups of children entertained when they arrived at different times to the workshops. I soon became aware of the need by individuals and other organisations running events, for this type of activity. So I started the company Ream Designs in 2011 and was soon supplying various themed cartoon strips to different organisations.
